I’ve finally taken the initiative to change my layout. It’s simple, the way I like everything to be : ) Well, currently I’ve been online for the last two hours or so… I’ve been looking at online portfolios from photography students from SOCAPA Photography Program. Basically, it’s a photography camp for teenagers. Located in New York, Los Angeles, and Burlington this two (or three) week camp helps students to learn and build photography skills. Now, in my mind this is a very cool and awesome camp. What’s the problem? Try $3,000 + sending in your transcript + there’s a wait list.
Now I have this burning desire to take photographs. I don’t know why I’m not taking photos though… I think I feel limited in a certain way. This room, this house, my unsafe neighborhood. Maybe I’ll take photos tomorrow now that I have a whole week with a blank schedule. Whatever comes, comes. But, I really need to do my summer reading for AP English. Muy Importante. I really need to study my SAT book, too.
I dedicated this whole day to clean + rearrange my room and it’s killing me. Just earlier, my table collapsed on itself while I was moving it. THIS is what I get for cleaning… Now I’m on IKEA looking for cheap desks that I could replace it with. Right now, I’m pretty much stuck out of my room. It’s a BIG mess. I actually brought out my iMac into the living room cause I’ve got nothing to do and I have to wait for someone to come home and help me. Note to self: Rearranging a room requires TWO people.
Leica M8 white edition. I posted this on my blog before, but I really, really like it.
It’s only been two days since the last time I blogged in here but for some reason it felt like a week. Well it’s maybe cause there’s nothing to update about in here, anyway. Let’s see, it’s a Saturday night and I’ve been home the whole day. You wouldn’t believe how many time I’ve refreshed my home page on facebook. Oh, and speaking of “day” - hey, there’s nothing to talk about… this weather’s been pretty scorching. Today was scorching.
On a side note, anyone know of any bike shops in the Hacienda Heights/Whittier area that sell used bikes? I’m looking for road bikes in particular. Like these kinds:
Yeah, I miss riding bikes. It’s been a while so I really wanted to hop back on a bike and start riding again. I’m just looking for something really simple and cheap. Maybe I’ll ride this to school? I don’t know. I’m going to have zero period though… which means I’ll have to wake up at 6:00 A.M. every morning if I’m going to go through with riding this to school everyday.
Oh, and on a side note, I just realized… there’s only four more days of summer school left! Sadly, this means I won’t be able to paint/sculpt/animate anymore :( Oh well. I’ve been really annoyed of having to wake up at 7:00 every morning for school-especially during summer…
I gotta stop with the tacky titles.
So I just ordered some books on amazon. SAT Prep and my summer reading book. **sigh** Just more things for me to read.
Let’s see, I didn’t do very much today. I came home from art > ate curry w/ rice for lunch > went to sleep until 6:30 > watched some T.V. online > washed my sister’s car > walked my dog > watched the Office > had some bagels for dinner > and now I’m on the computer. Oh, and I checked that Day19 contest I submitted photos to. Obviously, I didn’t even place in any of the 10 positions but oh well. It’s just that, they didn’t really do well choosing the best photos. I mean, they’re nice and all but a few are just like… stupid. Not being mean or anything but there’s this one photo of a neighborhood that a 5 year can take. Most of the top 10 photos are minimalist-ic and very simple and I sent in quite a few of those… Blegh, whatever.
I wanna take pictures like this.
I just had to post this creative yet quite funny music video by Sour- Hibi no Neiro — I think it’s some Japanese band or something… Really, really creative and it made a smile on my face :)
Hm, today was good. I really loved the weather today. Oh, and I actually had fun at art today. We were making shapes with watercolors and I just dozed off and started drawing film cameras and random stuff on my test sheet. Painting makes me feel peaceful… except when I mess up and it doesn’t come off… After, I headed over with some friends to a ramen shop which by the way, reminds me that I need to pay my friend back… then yogurt land and just walking around. I just came back around thirty minutes ago and I really feel like going outside and taking pictures… even though I’ve taken pictures a million times around my neighborhood. I also need to walk my dog… Well, anyways I have to go study… or not. Goodbye!
Metro Red Line at Los Angeles. Really great place to take pictures…
This summer is going by quickly. So quickly that a day feels like four days. Oh, and for some reason, I keep falling asleep early every night and I wake up the following morning not knowing what happened the last night. It even happened last night. I woke up (for some reason…) upside down on my bed and I don’t remember why I did that… What really sucks is that I haven’t used summer as an opportunity to improve my photography. I feel like i’ve lost all my creativity. I feel stupid. Oh, and I really need to study up on SAT crap. I need to buy a SAT book and a book called Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse In the Age of Show Business by Neil Postman pronto. They’re really important for next year…
A marvelous Color Theory photo I saw on JPG earlier. Taken By Alex Dudley.
So it’s about 4:50 P.M. right now. Great weather today. Though, I really really feel like getting a model and doing some shots right now. I think i’m beginning to like portrait/people photography a lot more now… It’s really all I ever think about in class when I daydream (when I daydream in class, I always imagine the perfect photo…). Oh, and today, I’ve been really thinking of getting a lens instead of lights. I don’t know. I can never make the right decisions. It’s just that I really want my friend’s Canon EF 24-70 ƒ/2.8. It’s a reallyyy nice lens. I always have so much fun with it. But I don’t know…
Oh, and last Saturday was pretty fun. July 4th. My friends and I took the bus and headed up to Little Tokyo for the American Apparel Flea Market Sale. But since we were too lazy to wait in two hour lines, we just cruised around Downtown L.A. We took the Metro Red Line and went down to Hollywood/Highland and saw Michael Jackson’s star. Then we looked around, had some starbucks, looked at some stores and then we left. Oh, and then Guppy House with a few people. Sadly, I didn’t get a chance to even light a firework or even see one to get a picture of.
Hm, is there anyone willing to get me into a job? Photography related would be nice :) I need to be making some money to get myself some things…
I’ve slept about 13 hours since 6:00 P.M. yesterday. Best sleep I’ve ever head in the looongesttt time. Though, I forgot to turn off my mac with the music on until I got up at 1 in the morning and put it to sleep.
An Eli Horn painting I’ve really grown to like.
Anyways, I’m getting pretty bored… I’m thinking I might go out later and get some fireworks with my friends. TOMORROW is July 4. Gosh, June went by hella fast. I’m going to Little Tokyo in the morning tomorrow to go to the American Apparel Flea Market Sale. Hopefully the lines won’t make me pass out. I’m hoping to get some really cheap stuff…
Oh, and I’ve really been feeling like taking photos everyday. Hello summer!
Today was whatever, but we’re made to pretend. Aren’t we?
You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to photoshop my face.
Stupid teen acne.
I’m still however, not satisfied with this photo.
